Simone Biles withdraws from the gymnastics team final at the Olympics in 2021

In a stunning turn of events Simone Biles quit the women’s gymnastics final competition today in Tokyo. She said that she feared that she would injure herself if she remained in the competition. It is unknown whether or not Biles will continue to compete at this year’s gymnastic competition for medals in the individual all-around and for the singular gymnastic apparatuses: the uneven bars, the floor exercise, the vault, and, finally, the balance beam.

Biles stated that she was “fighting all these demons” in her head which hindered her from competing. Russia moved forward to win the gold medal at the women’s gymnastic team final. The U.S.A. won the silver medal as a result. The other members of the women’s gymnastic team at this years Olympics includes: MyKayla Skinner, Grace McCallum, Jade Carey, Sunisa Lee, and Jordan Chiles.

You can watch the women’s gymnastic team final tonight on the NBC television network. The women’s all-around gymnastics competition will be broadcasted on Thursday on the NBC television network. The women’s uneven bars final and the women’s vault final will be also be broadcasted on Sunday on the NBC television network. The women’s floor exercise final will be broadcasted on Monday and the women’s balance beam final will be broadcasted on Tuesday on the same network.

I am disappointed that the women’s gymnastics team lost the gold medal in the team competition to Russia. However, there is more women’s gymnastics to look forward to in the coming week. We shall see if Biles feels up-to competing in the single individual all-around competition and in the single apparatus competition.

Always and forever,
Summer Parker

  1. I think that the U.S.A. team did an admirable job fighting-on after Biles left. Jordan Chiles did a good job as Biles’ alternate.
