Jennette McCurdy publishes a memoir named I’m Glad My Mom Died

You may know the actress who is named Jennette McCurdy. Jennette was one of the stars on the hit-Nickelodeon television show named iCarly. She played the character named Sam.

Now, Jennette releases a memoir. The memoir is named I’m Glad My Mom Died. In this book, Jennette reflects back on her poisonous relationship with her mother. Her mother influenced Jennette to become anorexic. Her mother also emotionally, verbally, and physically abused Jennette.

This is what Jennette had to say about her childhood: “My whole childhood and adolescence were very exploited. It still gives my nervous system a reaction to say it. There were cases where people knew exactly what they were doing.”

Jennetter continues to explain the rigorous diets and weight restriction that she dealt with as a young girl growing up with her mother.

She says: “I start to shrink by the week as Mom and I team up to count our calories every night and to plan our meals for the next day. She keeps me on a 1,000-calorie diet but I have the smart idea that I should only eat half my food, then, I’ll only receive half the calories… which means that I will shrink twice as fast.

Each Sunday, she weighs me and measures my thighs with a measuring tape. After a few weeks of our routine, she provides me with a stack of diet books that I finish quickly. I weigh myself five times a day.”

These are just a few of the things that Jennette has to say about her mother’s treatment of her when her mother was alive.

I am sorry to hear about the struggles that Jennette faced as a child actress.
