Will Smith stars in the movie named “Emancipation”

Will Smith is widely known for his role in films like The Pursuit of Happyness, Ali, and Independence Day. He is also infamous for slapping the comedian named Chris Rock at the 94th Academy Awards.

Will has moved on from that. Now, he stars in a new film with great meaning and with great importance. The film is named, “Emancipation.” In this film, Will plays a slave who is named Peter. Peter is a slave on a plantation in the state of Louisiana. Peter runs away from the plantation and enlists in the Union Army during the Civil War.

This is what Will had to say about his role as Peter in “Emancipation”:

“Throughout my career, I’ve turned down many films that were set in slavery. I never wanted to show us like that. And then this picture came along. And this is not a film about slavery. This is a film about freedom… this is a film about resilience… this is a film about faith.”

Will Smith won an Academy Award at the 94th Academy Awards ceremony. He won his first Academy Award for the film named King Richard. King Richard is a movie about Richard Williams, the father of tennis stars – Serena Williams and Venus Williams.

“Emancipation” will be released in movie theaters on Friday, December 2.

Always and forever,
Summer Parker
