Penn Badgley refuses to do sex scenes

Things sure have changed for Dan Humphrey.

Penn Badgley was the character named Dan Humphrey on the popular television show named Gossip Girl. Penn is now on a television show named You. Recently, Penn decided to refuse to do sex scenes on You. This decision stems from the fact that Penn is now married. Penn married a woman named Domino Kirke. Kirke is a singer.

This is what Penn had to say about the show creator’s opinion based off of his request. The show creator is named Sera Gamble: “She was really glad that I was that honest and had a really positive response to my request.”

Though there are still some steamy moments on the new season of You, there are no longer any close-up shots of Penn and his love interests during sexy scenes. Additionally, everyone’s clothes remain on.

Penn says that he wanted to avoid sex scenes on You because he is now married: “Fidelity in every relationship, and especially my marriage, is really important to me. It just got to a point where I didn’t want to do that.”

However, Penn still wonders if the lack of sex scenes will hurt the popularity of You: “Before I took the show, it was a question: Do I have a career if I don’t do those sex scenes? Think about every male lead you’ve loved. Are they kissing someone? Are they doing a lot more than that?”

Penn and his wife, Domino, have two children together. Penn is the step-father of Kirke’s son from another marriage. Penn’s step-son is named Cassius Riley. Penn and Kirke also have a son named James.

We will have to stay tuned to see if the lack of close-up sex scenes on You will affect the popularity of the show from now on.
