Miley Cyrus is on the cover of British Vogue this month

Miley Cyrus is a famous pop-star who follows the steps of The Pop Princess Greats like Britney and Christina. She recently released her eighth musical album named Endless Summer Vacation. Now, she is on the cover of British Vogue.

The journalist who wrote the article on Miley is named Giles Hattersley. Hattersley explains in her story that, “In truth, [Miley] is sage, witty and unpredictable, prone to find the whole machinery of fame ridiculous and damaging – especially for women.”

However, Miley is adamant that she, “…wouldn’t want this story to become a complaint of being a woman in the industry. I don’t need this to be a women’s empowerment story. I wear my empowerment at all times. I don’t need to profess it.”

In truth, “Miley is just being Miley.”

She reflects back on big and explosive moments in her almost-decade long career. She reflects back on her hugely popular song, “Wrecking Ball,” and her controversial performance at the MTV movie awards of 2013. “I was creating attention for myself because I was dividing myself from a character I had played,” she states in the article. “Anyone, when you’re 20 or 21, you have more to prove. ‘I’m not my parents.’ ‘I am who I am.'”

However, she still feels strong emotions about those times. “I carried some guilt and shame around myself for years because of how much controversy and upset I really caused,” she states. “Now that I’m an adult, I realize how harshly I was judged. I was harshly judged as a child by adults and now, as an adult, I realize that I would never harshly judge a child.”

British Vogue’s front page cover story on Miley Cyrus is a scintillating read. You can check-out the full story on BritishVogue.com.

Always and forever,

  1. Miley had grown up in the public eye and I am glad that all of that hasn’t hurt her in the long run. Nice post.
